Higley, Troy trio lead NTL all-star picks

The NTL East coaches have named chosen their basketball all-stars for the season on Sunday afternoon and Sayre's Liz Higley leads the girls selections, while Troy's trio of Bryant House, Jordan Brunelle and Chris Stroup top the boys list.

For the girls Higley was named the player of the year after averaging 12.75 points and 9.8 rebounds, with 3.7 blocks, per game in NTL play.

The first team selections for the girls include Towanda's Kylee Sutton and Mariah Monahan.

Sutton put up 22.2 points and 10 rebounds a game in league play and in her first year in the league Monahan averaged 11.1 points, 6.1 assists and 4.4 steals per game.

Troy's Lauren Gustin scored 13 points a game with 10 rebounds per contest in league play and teammate Meghan Manning put up 13 points a game with five rebounds a contest as each were named to the first team.

Rounding out the first team picks was Athens' Taylor Clark. Clark averaged 12.3 points a game and grabbed 6.6 rebounds, while dishing out 3.2 assists per game.
