ERIE, Pa. - Brittany Tabron (Canton, Ohio/Canton Central Catholic) recorded her 23rd career double-double and Shanna Thompson (Shaker Heights, Ohio/Shaker Heights) netted a career-high 18 points as the No. 4 Gannon women’s basketball team rolled to a 75-59 victory against Indiana (Pa.) Saturday night at the Hammermill Center.

In the process, Gannon extended its regular-season win streak to 30 games. By the time the Lady Knights take the floor again Wednesday night against Edinboro, it will have been over a year since they suffered a regular-season loss. The squad’s last setback came January 24, 2009 at IUP.

The victory also marked a milestone for head coach Cleve Wright, who captured his 150th career coaching win. The eighth-year mentor is the program’s all-time leader in victories (150) and career winning percentage (150-74, .670).

Gannon jumped out to a 40-25 halftime lead, shooting 61.3 percent (19-31) from the field and out-scoring IUP 32-8 in the paint during the first 20 minutes. The Lady Knights snapped a 9-9 tie with 13 consecutive points. Thompson sparked the run with two baskets and a pair of free throws. Her lay-up with 12:27 showing on the clock gave the home squad a 22-9 advantage.

The first-half lead stretched to 34-14, before the Crimson Hawks closed the half on an 11-6 run over the final 4:35.

Indiana (Pa.) never clawed closer than 12 points in the second half. Gannon assumed its biggest lead of 22 points on two different occasions. The first 22-point lead came on Julie Kleber’s (Suffern, N.Y./Suffern) lay-up with 10:27 remaining and the second came on Tabron’s lay-up at the 5:07 mark.
